Troy: Directors Cut - Wednesday 1st January 2025

I clearly remember when this film came out, and all the hype surrounding it. I also remember leaving the cinema disappointed, because it was all hype and very little substance.

Apparently the Director’s cut is better, so I decided to give it a gander…

Wow! This is a MUCH better film than the theatrical release. It still suffers from the problem that neither Paris, or Helen are at all likeable. It’s difficult to see why Paris would be so enamoured with Helen, and why Troy would fight to protect her and Paris?! It’s all such a soap opera, with the matching cast of beautiful actors!

The film is over 3 hours, but you never feel it, as it moves at a brisk pace. All in all, I enjoyed it very much!

The Director’s Cut is really good, and definitely worth watching!
