The Swimmer - Sunday 2nd June 2024

I caught a bit of The Swimmer on Film4, so checked it out on IMDB, and later watched the whole film.

The reviews online were glowing, and yes, I have to hand it to the film, it’s definitely different, and the filmmakers absolutely took risks. Also, I get it; it’s an allegory. But is it actually any good?
I’m still on the fence to be honest. I enjoyed the experience of watching it for the first time, mainly because it was a novel viewing experience, but would I ever watch it again? Moreover, would I recommend anyone else watch it?
