I don’t know what’s going on with Wes Anderson lately; his films aren’t what they used to be. This short film on Netflix, based on a story by Roald Dahl, promised something akin to the Anderson’s brilliant adaptation of Dahl’s other story, The Fantastic Mr Fox.
Instead, what was delivered was more like a filmed rehearsal with a bunch of heavy-weight actors. It lacked polish and refinement. Thankfully it was just a short, but it felt longer.
