Somewhere in Time -Tuesday 7th January 2025

Disclaimer: I want to believe in love, and romance, and all those happily ever after concepts we’re lead to believe when we’re kids; but life is brutal when it comes to shattering those illusions.

That said, a good movie can transport you back to those innocent days, when you believed love could last a lifetime. And so, I actually searched for a good romance about a love that stands the test of time.

I had never even heard of this film, but I like Christopher Reeve, and Jane Seymour has the kind of beauty that could make you fall in love, just by looking at her.

So I watched Somewhere in Time, and I REALLY wanted to like it. I need a good romance. But, the story was SOooo ludicrous and schmaltzy, that I just couldn't buy into the romance!

In fact, everything about this film was just too stupid, not least of all the ending.

Sigh. I guess I’ll have to stick French movies to provide me that vicarious feeling.. or actually go out and search for love in real life? (Do people still do that?)
