Sing Street – Tuesday 26th August 2025

I love a good musical, and you’d think one set in the 80s would be totally up my ‘street’ as it were, but no, I didn’t like this film at all.

It just didn’t resonate with me. The kid at the centre of the story wasn’t someone I could empathise with, or even care for. He was the least interesting character in the whole film; the most interesting character was his older brother. The whole thing just seemed too contrived for my liking. I wasn’t a fan of any of the songs either.

The story dragged and got less interesting as it went on; no drama, no twists, nothing compelling. I couldn’t wait for it to end.
It was just plain boring.
