Indiana Jones and the Temple Of Doom - Wednesday 25th December 2024

As a kid, Temple of Doom was my favourite ‘Indy’ film, because even with it’s ludicrous, and racist depiction of Indians, it still acknowledged our existence!
Also, ‘Short Round’ was a great character, sharing Indiana Jones’s adventures, despite being a kid! That’s the stuff every kid dreams of!

Seeing the film all these decades later, it really doesn’t hold up very well. The tone is like a cartoon, and the racism is hard to overlook. It’s a fun movie, and not ‘dark’ at all, because it’s so damn cartoonish!

That said, Indiana Jones is still cool as fcuk, and has never looked better than he does in this film!
Worth watching just to see Indy on an exotic adventure when he’s in his prime!
