Gladiator 2 - Friday 21st November 2024

So, I watched the first Gladiator when it came out, and never again. I wasn’t a fan to be honest.

Consequently, I had no hopes for the sequel, but saw it anyway, because I enjoy going to the cinema.
I have to say, it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be! Denzel Washington adds much needed gravitas to the film, and steals the show in doing so! The ending… just ends. There’s no real empathy or connection with the protagonist. The story isn’t anything to write home about, but the villains are sufficiently bonkers.

Seeing it on the big screen, however, was fun. I wouldn’t watch it again, but it’s not bad.
