Furiosa - Friday 24th May 2024

I saw Furiosa.
I barely had any interest, or anticipation to see it, but went on the strength of the director.

It started off really well; a chase film about trying to recover a kidnapped child would have been much better than the film they ended up making.

The action is good, but also the VFX are pretty bad in places; you can easily tell the scenes where the actors are against a green screen, compared to those where they're not.

Fundamentally, however, this film lacked the presence of Mad Max. Furiosa is fine as a protagonist, but I feel the film would have been infinitely better with Max, instead of her. He's just more compelling.

In the end, the film was alright. Worth watching once.
