As you all know, I love animation, and I was really looking forward to watching ‘Flow’, the independent animated movie from Latvia.
The positive buzz surrounding it was universal; literally no one had a bad word to say. But it wasn’t for me. I didn’t find it compelling, or transcendental, or moving, or any of the other adjectives people have used to describe their experience when watching this film. In fact, I found it a bit of a chore to get through. When it comes to animals stuck on a boat, ‘The Life of Pi’ is the gold standard, and says everything ‘Flow’ tries to say, but says it much more effectively!
