There was a lot of positive buzz surrounding this film at the London Film Festival, so I was eager to finally check it out, even though I knew absolutely nothing about it.
I liked it, if for no other reason than I couldn't see where the story was going, and it kept me engaged, which is a rare treat. Also, it evoked a sense of empathy in me for the plight of the protagonist. In terms of being a ‘musical’, yeah, it’s much more of an avant-garde theatre type of affair, but there are still some good sequences. It was original and emotive; worth a watch for sure.
