I never studied art, except for doing a GCSE at 16. Still, after University I figured I had what it takes to be a comic book Writer & Artist (due to my love of the medium during my teenage years), so I produced a sample of my very own comic book! Long story short, after a couple of failed attempts, including submissions to Marvel followed by excellent critiques & advice from their Submissions Editor, I finally accepted that I didn't have what it takes, and to be an Artist I'd have to return to school and study Art seriously. That wasn't gonna happen. Besides, I was simultaneously chasing my filmmaking ambitions. I had to choose, and I did so knowing that though I didn't succeed, I did give it my best shot at the time. I still love the medium, and the art style, and I still draw & write, so who knows.. Maybe someday.
